The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences will be hosting a
Centennial Celebration of
Producer/ Director George Pal.

The Pal centennial celebration will include new prints of RHYTHM IN THE RANKS (1941) and JOHN HENRY AND THE INKY POO (1946), restored by the UCLA Film & Television Archive in cooperation with the Academy Film Archive.

A panel discussion with Pal collaborators Bob Baker , Jim Danforth , Barbara Eden , Ann Robinson , Russ Tamblyn and Alan Young will follow.

The evening will conclude with a screening of the
George Pal production THE WAR OF THE WORLDS in its entirety.

The event will take place on
Wednesday August 27, 2008 7:30 p.m.
at the
Samuel Goldwyn Theater
located at
8949 Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills.

Tickets for the evening are $5.00 for non academy members
